Thursday Thirteen # 5: Blogtizen

13 things we do as blogtizens.

  1. We live for comments.
  2. Meme is a staple. We spend the whole week keeping an eye out for topics to meme for Manic Monday, Wordless Wednesday, Thankful Thursday, Thursday Thirteen and Friday’s Feast.
  3. And now realize the blogosphere does not have an established meme for Tuesday. Think “should I start one?”
  4. If you’re an organized freak, your calendars are marked with specific topics you should meme about for the duration of the week.
  5. You find it appalling that someone could spend so much time in front of the TV, but you have no qualms on spending the time between cleaning up after lunch and starting dinner chain-visiting about 200+ blogs a day. And after dinner, you continue chain-visiting. Hey, it’s better than, say, chain-smoking. Besides, it’s reading. That makes it all right. Yes. It does.
  6. Someone comment on your post. That commenter leaves a link. You follow link. Link brings you to commentor’s blog. You check other people’s comments to entries. Other people leave links. You go visit the ‘other people’. Every. Single. One. Of. Them. You arrive at their blog. Process repeated. Before you know it, you have spent 4 straight hours chain-visiting blogs. And I’m only talking about ONE comment on your post. Imagine having 14 comments.
  7. This is probably the reason why user friendly tabbed browsers were invented: to make our mass blog visit a bit easier.
  8. …therefore making our compulsive-blog- subscribing tendency incurable.
  9. Switch on PC. Connect to Internet. First 3 tabs: e-mail, blog reader, your blog dashboard.
  10. Something interesting happen to you, your first reaction is to want to blog it.
  11. The first person (people) in your life to know about your new boyfriend/girlfriend/job/trip—basically any changes in your life—Is your readers. Family and friends will be lucky if they get told after a month. That’s their payment for not reading blogs, suckers.
  12. You know who Mr. Linky is. You pity mere mortals who don’t. He really makes our life simpler.
  13. Say goodbye to goodbye. “Happy TT!” is an existing, legitimate parting word.

Go ahead. Comment. My user-friendly-tab-enabled browser needs extra work. ;)

The Honourable Commentors. Go chain-visit them! =P

  1. Blogs are contagious spread my meme germs. Sometimes I want to catch it.

  2. You’re dead on! Man, are we predictable or what?

    Thank you for sharing.

    Happy TT!

  3. Oh my gosh, you are so so so right! I mean, I love blogging…but I prefer reading other people’s blogs. I find other people so much more interesting than myself. Although I do think my life could be made into a Lifetime movie. Drama, drama, drama. Sometimes I blog about it, sometimes I try to shut my eyes real tight and make the drama go away. :)

Anyway, it’s nice to read a “13″ post from someone so much like me…the scrapbooking, blogging, writing, being too busy to think…all that jazz.

Thank you for stopping by my blog! You have a great day in bloggerville. ;)

  4. Oh my, how true it that? Sounds like you have been spying on my blog activities…lol!

    Happy TTing!

  5. hehehe I loved you list :) Happy TT

  6. You’re so right, blogging is so contagious. I introduced a friend to blogging and there she is posting faster than I. She’s way, way ahead of me already…zoomed out of sight in a matter of 6 months. I started blogging in 2005, but intermittently. LOL

    Here’s fun to blogging.

  7. colleen, I wouldn’t say no to meme germs too! I have to select my meme germs in order not to be too meme-fevered but that is so hard. Haha.

JennieBoo, nah, we’re the special, enlightened group of people that happens to behave the same way. =P

Kristik, I have that problem too. I log in to post an entry, but got sidetrack after reading comments on my previous ones. It usually takes me about 40 blogs reading before I realize why I was online in the first place.

  8. Penny, Big Bad Blog is watching you. =P

    Thanks, Lady Rose!

Oh, same case here! Seems like everyone seems to have a blog one way or another. The only difference is that if it is constantly updated or not. Haha.

  9. LOL! That is so true!! Although, my blogging has been totally slacking lately! I miss spending all of those hours online! :) :)

  10. I don’t know all of you here.

  11. Love your layout and tabbed comments. you rock my socks!
